Basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Blogging

1. You need your own domain and hosting

Many people speculate that if you are really serious about your website, you will get your own name and host it yourself. And Google just wants to point to a website that is considered serious and believable and so this is a very basic signal.



I advise all new bloggers to get their own domain and hosting setups from the start. 2. Troubleshoot issues with original content

You should remember that the main purpose of Google is to provide their customers with relevant and useful search results. Everything they do is built around the premise.

And, to be realistic, the most important thing you can do for SEO is to create very useful content that solves people's problems. If you're troubleshooting a person's search, you'll likely be shared on social media and rated on Google. The phrase  "original content" means more than just the current blog post. The video makes a tutorial or does a video post with your webcam. It builds links and traffic from YouTube and runs well on mobile devices.

Tools and Plugins

If you can develop the original tool and install it on your website, you can be assured of top Google rankings for a long time. Google really likes useful tools and plugins that people can use in their lives.

The idea is to build relationships with your readers by helping them. This means more sharing and faster results in SERPS (search engine ranking positions).

But you also want to make sure that the content you produce differs in some respects. If you look at the front page of Google you will see that all the results are a little different and you need to try and fulfill it.

For example, we added a blogging quiz on this post about starting a blog as a way to provide bonus information to readers. The post also contains infographics, videos, and other resources as a way to give people as much value as possible. This helps draw more links, which takes us to the next section.

3. Create a relevant backlink in a natural way

If you're just getting started with SEO, you probably know a bit about backlinks and why it matters. Backlinks are when other websites link back to your site from their site.

Not all backlinks are created equal. You can use a tool like SEMRush (AFF) if you want to see who is linking to you and who is linking to your competitors.
